Bath time isn’t always simple.

A bath seat lets you sit securely inside the bath and wash in comfort, without having to lower yourself all the way to the bottom — and, just as importantly, without the struggle of getting back up. They are ideal if you are elderly, have limited mobility, are recovering from surgery, or simply find getting in and out of the bath difficult or unsafe. Every seat here qualifies for VAT relief, with free UK delivery on orders over £15.

Bath seat, bath board or shower seat — which do I need?

It is worth being clear on the difference, because each solves a different problem:

  • A bath seat sits inside the bath and lowers you part-way down, so you can wash sitting in the water without getting right down to the floor of the bath. Best if you can still step into the bath but cannot get up from the bottom.
  • A bath board rests across the top of the bath, so you sit on top to wash or use it to swing your legs over and lower in. Best if getting down into the bath is too difficult.
  • A shower seat gives you somewhere stable to sit in a walk-in shower or wet room.

If you are not sure which suits your bathroom, call our team and we will talk it through with you.

How to choose a bath seat

  • Height adjustment — an adjustable seat lets you set a comfortable, safe height for getting up; on a deeper bath, extension legs raise it further.
  • Fit and width — check the seat suits your bath width; ours are made to fit most standard UK baths.
  • Grip — strong suction cups hold the seat firmly to the base of the bath so it does not slide.
  • Comfort and weight capacity — drainage holes stop water pooling and contoured seats are more comfortable; check the maximum user weight on the product page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a bath seat and a bath board? A bath seat sits down inside the bath so you wash lower in the water; a bath board sits across the top so you stay at rim height. Boards suit people who cannot lower into the bath at all.

Will a bath seat fit my bath? Our seats are designed for most standard UK baths and grip to the base with suction cups. For deeper baths, extension legs are available. If your bath is an unusual shape, call us before ordering.

Can I buy a bath seat VAT-free? Yes — if you are disabled or have a long-term illness you can usually buy VAT-free by completing the short declaration at checkout.
