Either a single carer working with a hoist or with a carer at either side. Start by using the built in slide sheet to move across.

Raising the hoist or using the built-in straps to do a “log roll” allows the Symmetrisleep® supporting brackets to be put in place. The slide sheet is automatically disabled.

Further Symmetrisleep® elements can be quickly added so that your client can  be comfortably and securely supported in side lying either for sleep or super efficient hygiene changes. Moving back into semi side lying or supine lying can easily be done by one carer without the hoist.

Once SymmSlyde® has helped you into the right position, SymmetriSleep® components keep you there safely and comfortably. Simply lift the combined top sheet and overmantle to lock the brackets onto the Velcro base — this automatically disables the built-in slide sheet and holds the body securely in place.

Quick and intuitive to use, the brackets fit easily without fiddly adjustments. Many carers even choose to fit them once the user has fallen asleep, ensuring minimal disruption. Experience shows that, even away from home, new staff can quickly learn the system with guidance from parents or carers.

Remember, SymmetriSleep® isn’t just for night-time. Even two hours of daily use provides 730 hours of passive stretch therapy per year. Used overnight, that becomes around 3,000 hours — delivered when the body is naturally relaxed and most receptive.
